5K Fun Run and Health Fair

ABOUT

Osteopathic medical students of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences are hosting the 2nd annual PNWU Run For Your Life, a 5k fun run and health fair to promote physical fitness and health in the Yakima Valley Community.

WHAT ARE WE RAISING MONEY FOR?

100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit Yakima's Children's Village. For more information about Children's Village, check out their website: yakimachildrensvillage.org

COURSE AND TIMING

The 5K course will start and end on the PNWU campus. The course will be clearly marked and volunteers will be present along the race course. There will be a timing clock at the finish line, but we will not be providing individual timing equipment. The course will be open long enough to allow all participants, both walkers and runners, to complete the event in a comfortable amount of time.

REGISTRATION

To register online for the 5K fun run, visit raceit.com

Registration will also be available on the day of the event.

Registration for the 5K run will also enter you in a raffle for prizes, to be given out at the end of the run.

PICK UP BIB AND RACE PACKET

Bibs, race packets, and tee-shirts will be available for participants at the registration booth starting at 10:00am.

WATER AND FIRST AID

There will be a water and first aid station located near the end of the run.

HEALTH FAIR

What does it take to burn the calories in an oreo cookie? What are some different ways to stay in shape? What is osteopathic medicine? The answers to all these questions and more at the health fair! The health fair will feature booths sponsored by PNWU clubs with medical students educating on topics ranging from physical fitness and health, to preventative and osteopathic medicine. Also visit booths sponsored by local businesses.

OBSTACLE COURSE

It is our hope to have an obstacle course available for kids, with prizes for finishers! We are actively working with the school and community to have many other kid friendly events!

PARKING

Parking is available at 200 University Parkway, in the lots surrounding Butler Haney Hall, which is where the health fair will take place, and where the run will start and end.
